About Rithy Thul

Rithy Thul was born in 1986 in Kandal province, Saang district, Cambodia.

After completing high school at the age of 18, he moved to Phnom Penh to work toward a University degree.

Upon completing the English Literature Associates program at Cambodian University for Specialties (CUS), Rithy decided to cultivate interests in social networks and personal achievement.

Employed with the PEPY organization, he worked as a group facilitator improving rural education and promoting sustainable development.

Rithy was instrumental in bringing TEDx events to Cambodia, a series of hard-hitting independently organized short lecture and performance events based on TED conference concept.

He is also the co-founder and main organizer for Khmer Young Entrepreneurs (KYE) and Khmer Talks events, a group of over 500 active Cambodian youth whose aim is to promote idea sharing events, social enterprise, and to host business and educational lectures in the Khmer language for aspiring young entrepreneurs.
